Erich Raeder – Großadmiral (Grand Admiral) and Commander-in-Chief of the German Kriegsmarine from 1935 to 1943. Oversaw the naval expansion of the Third Reich and directed operations including the Battle of the Atlantic. Convicted at the Nuremberg Trials and sentenced to life imprisonment.
